This is an O.G classic 5A trick. It’s a fundamental skill if you want to make it past level 3 type tricks. And on top of that, it feels good if you can pull off a perfect Bee Sting.
But really though, Bee Sting can be a headache. Even though it’s ‘only’ a level 2 trick, it’s tough. Practice the first redirection until you get that part down solidly. Then work on the second redirection for the actual bee sting trick. Timing is key for this trick. The yoyo redirection feels awkward at first, most of your yoyo control is going to come from your fingers to get it swinging the other way.
Fun Fact: This is the Terry version of Bee Sting, the original variation is by John Huber which is the first yoyo redirection only, landed into a bottom mount. I chose the Terry version to teach because i’m like that 4th grade teacher who you think is mean, but he’s really just preparing you for tougher subjects later on. At least that’s whats I tell myself.
