Zipper is a great trick to teach you additional mounts that we haven’t quite gone over yet. It starts with a flip over bottom mount. It’s a common quick way to get into a Brain Twister. When learning Brain Twister we threaded the string through the gap carefully, this new way allows you to quickly flip the yoyo up onto the string and once you progress in skill will be the preferred way to mount the yoyo. We also cover reverse bottom mount which is also useful for quickly getting into a bind ready mount when playing front style.
Start with a bottom mount, then immediately dismount the yoyo and flip it backward over the middle finger and into a reverse bottom mount. Bring the throw hand downward and the mount up to switch hand positions. Now at the formation is on top, dismount the yoyo and flip it over up top back onto the front string. Bring the hand down and you’ll be back into a bottom mount. That is one repetition of the Zipper, continue the pattern as many times as you like.
