Guide to yo-yo play and culture.
This is the beginning of any course in modern yoyoing. High end yoyos don’t come back with a simple tug of the string anymore. This technique called a “Bind Return” will allow you to continue on toward more rewarding maneuvers. I cover two of the most basic binds out there. The reason for including two is that the correct bind to perform depends on the origin of spin, meaning the correct bind is different if you throw the yoyo out in front of you (front style) or across from you (side style). Binds need to be performed on a backspin for optimal success rate. This means if the yoyo is spinning forward in a front style throw, the bind needs to be performed from the back string.
